Senior shadows BPS Academic Superintendent
RonAsia Rouse shadowed Dr. Linda Cabral, BPS Academic Superintendent for High Schools on Friday, February 3rd as part of the National Job Shadow Day. Thank you to the Boston PIC for organizing this day for our students! RonAsia and about 30 sophomore students participated in the day at businesses throughout Boston. |

August Wilson Monologue Competition Returns to Kennedy Academy!
On Thursday January 19, 2012 Kennedy Academy hosted its second annual August Wilson Monologue Competition. The school level competition prepares students for the Boston regional finals and the national competition that will be held in New York later this spring. |

Kennedy Academy Poets: A Night to Shine
Kennedy Academy hosted its school-wide Poetry Out Loud competition on Thursday January 19, 2012. The school level competition paves the way to the regional, state and national poetry recitation contests that will be held later this spring. |

A Smart Move Forward: Kennedy Academy Alum Joins Children's Hospital Nursing Staff
Congratulations are in order for Julie Romain, Health Careers Academy 2007 graduate, and member of the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences class of 2011. Having passed her nursing boards in July with flying colors, Julie will now begin her nursing career at Children's Hospital in the Infusion Center. Congratulations Julie! Come back and visit often - our students have so much to learn from your success! |

Kennedy Academy Celebrates Alumni Success!
Congratulations to David Huynh who recently visited Kennedy Academy and shared news of his acceptance to an Accelerated Bachelor's program in Magnetic Resonance Imagine at Mass College of Pharmacy and Health Science. David is a member of the Health Careers Academy class of 2004, and graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology. Since his college graduation David has been working at Boston University in a dialysis clinic. Way to go David! Best of luck at MCPHS. |

Health Awareness Night at EMK!
Kennedy Academy families -- click here to sign up for the first annual Health Awareness Night to be held on Thursday October 27 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Cahners Hall. This evening is for parents and students and provides them an opportunity to learn more about the topics of: Mental Health/Communication, Physical Fitness, Bullying, Nutrition, Sexual Health, and Alcohol/Drugs/Tobacco. Healthy refreshments will be served and you'll be entered into a raffle for fitness and health related prizes! Parking is available at the Columbus Lot and parking passes will be sent home the day before with your child. |

Don’t be surprised when you see our energetic high school students biking through the Fenway over the next two weeks with smiles on their faces. They are participating in a cycling program during their fitness classes, through a partnership with Roll It Forward. |
