Academic Program
The Academy has established a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum as the standard for all students. When needed, we adjust the sequence of courses to accommodate the readiness and skills of individuals. All students, however, are held to the same promotion and graduation standards. | Health Careers Academy Standard Curriculum Academic Courses |

PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS
- Students must pass at least three of five core academic courses by August of each year in order to be promoted to the next grade level. We believe that failure of core academic courses is a strong indicator that a student is not yet ready to pursue the curriculum that is expected in the next year.
- Students who have failed two or more core academic courses at the end of August may be retained to repeat all courses for that grade level.
- Students with disabilities are expected to meet promotion and graduation requirements. A student's Individualized Education Program (IEP) or section 504 Plan will state the expected requirements and the school's plan for meeting promotion goals. It will also describe the conditions by which the student will take standardized tests and alternative classroom tests and assessments.
